My objectives were to create a highly buoyant, highly visible, easy-casting, soft-landing fly that would serve anglers in a wide range of sizes and colors. The fly can be thought of as the love child of the Chubby, Madam X, and the Stimulator. That said, it has a special benefit that none of the above have: it sits on the water rather than in the water. This is due to its ultra-buoyant tail and its wing wrapping around the entire top half of the hook shank. The fly is supported by its tail and wing and has a very light surface footprint as a result. When greased up, it floats like a cork, and, due to its tail design, it can support dropper nymphs well. It also has solid skating properties and can be used as a general attractor, a caddis, a traveling sedge, or a stonefly.
