The Bighorn has been incredibly productive for the past three seasons, add that to a fantastic lodge program and it is easy to see why hard-core anglers visit this river season after season. North Platte Lodge, Central Wyoming

Another great lodge that contends for the best overall value in our catalog. The North Platte holds a special place in my heart. I spent a lot of my wayward youth on the river learning the sometimes-punishing lessons of how to be a better angler. It is the river I caught my first fish over 20-inches on. The Grey Reef section of the river is one of the most productive tailwaters in the world and a section where trophy fish on other rivers are the average. The lodge offers a high level of service, and the guides are some of the most experienced in Wyoming.
Big Sky Anglers / The Golden Stone Inn, West Yellowstone, Montana

BSA/GSI can be summed up in one word. Options. We love options. The lodge has access to some of the most iconic waters in our sport. From the town of West Yellowstone the Madison, Henry’s Fork, Missouri and Yellowstone are all within striking distance for floats or walk and wade access. The lodge can also walk and wade some truly magical rivers inside Yellowstone National Park, including the Firehole, Gibbon, Gallatin and Lamar. At the lodge dinners are not included, enabling guests to explore the many dining options available in West Yellowstone. If guests just want pizza and beer or a multi-course meal, both are available just a short walk from the lodge. For the money and for what you get, it is tough to beat The Golden Stone Inn and Big Sky Anglers.
Deschutes River Float Trip, Central Oregon

Anglers return to the Deschutes year after year, and we often tell guests that all serious anglers should experience the river at least once in their angling career. The river's rainbows, known as redsides are large, strong, and plentiful. Our outfitting partner, Renton River Adventures, is one of the finest outfitters in Oregon with a long history of providing top-notch experiences, comfortable camps, and amazing riverside meals. One great thing about trout fishing on the Deschutes is that anglers can fish in the months of May and October adding time to their trout fishing season.
Bow River Camp, Alberta
2025 Rate: $2,750 per person based on double occupancy for a 3 night/ 3 day package
While not four days of guided fishing, the Bow River Camp is still an incredible value. The Bow River is a big fish river and the camp is fantastic. The Bow River is one of our favorite destinations for August when temps climb south of the border the Bow is hitting prime time. With world-class options for dry fly and trout Spey fishing, the Bow River Camp should be on every angler’s list.

Don’t need a full-service experience? Are you looking for a more DIY feel? We have a great network of independent guides that can help you get more fishing for less money. When you fish with an independent guide, you are on your own for accommodation and meals, but we can help with recommendations.
Williamson River with Paul McDonald, Southern Oregon
2025 Rate: $650 per day for 1 or 2 anglers (minimum of 2 consecutive days)
The Williamson River is unlike most trout rivers in the west. The fishing for large trout actually improves the hotter the air temperature gets. The river terminates in Klamath Lake which is Oregon’s largest lake with an average depth of 12-feet. As the lake warms the fish migrate upriver to the colder waters of the Williamson. It is here that guests catch trout that often average over 20-inches. Guests will need to book accommodation in the small town of Chiloquin, Oregon where there are options that we can help with.
McKenzie River, Oregon with Matt Ramsey 2025 Rate: $700 per day for 1 or 2 anglers
Matt Ramsey is one of the finest fishing guides we have ever crossed paths with. He guides the McKenzie and Willamette rivers just outside of Eugene, Oregon. Matt is patient, kind, a great communicator, and an amazing guide. Matt holds the distinction of being one of the only guides that our own Ken Morrish pays to fish with every year. Guests will be on their own for accommodation and meals, but there are lots of options in the Eugene area.
Bighorn River with Matt Schliske, Thermopolis, Wyoming 2025 Rate: $650 per day for 1 or 2 anglers
The Bighorn River in Central Wyoming is not a secret but it is definitely not well known to the greater angling public. With that said, It should absolutely be on your radar. The river is one of the finest tailwaters in the lower 48 and fishes well all season long. Our friend Matt Schliske is an amazing bamboo rod builder, fantastic fly tyer, and top guide.
WorldCast Anglers, Victor, Idaho 2025 Rate: $775 per day for 1 or 2 anglers
WorldCast boasts some of the best guides in the Eastern Idaho region. They have guides that specialize in the South Fork of the Snake, Henry’s Fork, Main Stem Snake, Green, Salt and Teton Rivers in addition to being able to offer walk and wade trips in Yellowstone National Park. Guests will want to book a room in Victor or Driggs to fish with WorldCast.
Owyhee River with Cory Godell
2025 Rate: $700 per day for 1 or 2 anglers
Longtime outfitting friend of Fly Water Travel, Cory Godell, has been running trips to the Owyhee Basecamp for years. The Owyhee is a great early and late season river that on any given day can be one of Oregon’s best dry fly brown trout fisheries.
