From the extraordinary technical runs of the “Fairest River,” Nordura, to the time-honored classic of Laxa I Kjos, the wild power of West Ranga (which landed over 5,500 salmon in 2025) and the scenic comfort of the highlands at Highland Trout Lodge, each program offers a distinct experience and the calendars for 2026 are now open for bookings. If you’ve been dreaming of Iceland, this is your moment to lock in the dates, secure your rods, and plan an unforgettable fishing journey.

Getting to Iceland

Getting to Iceland has never been easier. With direct flights from Seattle to Reykjavik, Iceland now available, anglers from the Pacific Northwest have an easy and clear path on Alaska Airlines to arrive in-country only 7.5 hours later. Often much faster and easier than a west coast to east coast flight when factoring in a layover in the middle of the country. In addition, most major airlines also service Iceland including, United, Icelandair, Delta, British Airways, and EasyJet. It is important to know that the international airport is in Keflavik approximately 1-hour (52 kilometers) outside of the city of Reykjavik. There are several options for transfers into the city.

NORDURA, ICELAND

Known as the “Fairest River”, the Nordura is celebrated for its productive wild salmon runs and stunning natural beauty. Fished with single hand rods, the river is extremely varied with technical braided sections, waterfall pools, gorges and broad wide-open pools making it truly remarkable and captivating system. The high-end lodge offers million-dollar views of the Laxfoss Waterfall and the canyon below.

Available Dates:
June 24 – 27: 2 rods
July 12 – 15: 1 rod (Prime Time)

LAXA I KJOS, ICELAND

One of the old classic wild salmon rivers of Iceland. The lodge is best for experienced trout anglers interested in catching grilse and salmon on a 6-weight, single hand rod. The Laxa I Kjos averages 1,000 salmon landed in a 9-week season but also has a great run of sea-trout in the meadows above the lodge.

Available Dates:
July 11 – 8: 2 rods
August 11 – 15: 6 rods (Solar Eclipse)

EAST RANGA RIVER, ICELAND

A cold water, double hand, salmon fishery that is often in the top five for yearly catch rate. Spey fishing on the Rangas is a great option for winter steelheaders. Anglers must work to get the fly deep using sinking tips, heavier flies, and mending in the drift to give the fly time to sink. With a comfortable lodge and a great vibe, it is tough to beat East Ranga.

Available Dates:
July 3 – 7: 4 rods
September 1 – 4: 6 rods

WEST RANGA RIVER, ICELAND

The undisputed leader in Iceland in salmon catch rates. West Ranga Lodge landed over 5,500 salmon in the 2025 season due to an Icelandic stocking program used on the Ranga Rivers. The lodge experience, the guides, the river, and the fish all add up to a great experience for guests looking to maximize their time on the water.

Available Dates:
June 30 - July 4: 4 rods
July 14- 16: 2 rods

BATTLE HILL LODGE, ICELAND

The best overall sea-trout destination in Iceland. Battle Hill Lodge is fantastic destination that employs single hand swing and euro-nymphing, and double hand swing fishing. Availability can be a challenge so be ready when the calendar opens in mid-November, or be ready to snatch a cancellation.
