The North Platte and Bighorn Rivers of Wyoming are some of the most stable and best fishing tailwaters in the United States. Here anglers will target healthy and large trout with an average size of 16-inches and the opportunity to target legitimate trophy fish is both systems.
The itinerary begins with three days of fishing at the North Platte Lodge on the banks of the Grey Reef section of the North Platte. Gusts will fish from drift boats with the opportunity to walk and wade prime runs. Fish in the 3-pound class are expected daily with a strong possibility of landing larger fish.
From Casper guests will drive approximately 2.5-hours to the small town of Thermopolis, Wyoming where they will check into their chosen accommodation. The next day they will meet Wyoming native, Captain, and bamboo rod builder Matt Schliske for three days of guided fishing on the remarkable Bighorn River below the “Wedding of the Waters” where the Wind River becomes the legendary Bighorn River. Guests will be on their own in Thermopolis for lodging and meals, but we are happy to recommend a few options.
