Veteran river guide Jim Simonelli, in conjunction with Nicholas Dean Outdoors, will now be offering day trips for guests staying in the Smithers area, making this an attractive way to add a few days of quality fishing to extended fishing travels in the area. There will be a two-day minimum and they still have some great weekend dates available.
Jim began guiding on the Bulkley in 2000, and since then he has spent each fall pursuing his passion for steelhead guiding with some of the premier outfitters in BC. Jim refers to himself as a river guide, as opposed to a fly fishing guide, as he has a vast reservoir of white water and expedition-style guiding experience in addition to a year-round business focusing on river rescue and safety. But each fall, just before the colors turn, he dons his waders, fly boxes, and line wallets so he can help folks experience the joy and beauty of catching Bulkley steelhead on the swing.
Jim's trips have a two-day minimum and are best suited for parties of two. For guests staying within Smithers city limits, he will pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation. Lunches, tackle, flies, and hot coffee provided!
2025 Rates: $750 USD (plus 5%GST) per person/per day
Single Angler: $1,250 USD (plus 5%GST) per day
