This budget friendly package offers all services Rapids Camp guests have come to expect including meet and greet in Anchorage, all ground transfers, private air charter flight to the lodge in their comfortable PC-12, single rooms with private baths and a host of additional lodge comforts.
Their home waters offer multiple options during the season. June is their opening month with anglers targeting rainbow trout and king salmon. Spend mornings swinging for kings and the afternoon hunting big rainbows busting smolt. Fly out days can be to Katmai Park for trout or the peninsula for kings and grayling.
Available June dates: June 9 – 16: 10 spots
June 16 – 23: 10 spots
June 23 – 30: 6 spots
June 30 – July 7: 2 spots
During July the smolt bust continues down the throat of the “rapids” within sight of the lodge, while at the same time massive numbers of sockeye salmon will be migrating up the edge of the home waters. The Naknek hosts one of the largest sockeye salmon runs in the state and they are a great fish to harvest and take home if desired. Their pike fishery is also in full swing and fun, often overlooked option for fly anglers.
Available July dates:
July 14 – 21: 10 spots
July 21 – 28: 8 spots
July 28 – August 4: 6 spots
September is when the biggest trout are caught. The Nannek harbors a special lake-run race of rainbow trout that are more akin to steelhead than river rainbows. These fish are notorious for getting into your backing and many over thirty inches are caught each fall. Combine fly outs to the Kvichak and the trophy trout angler is in heaven. Or consider fly outs for large Arctic char on the Alaska Peninsula.
Available September dates:
September 1 – 8: 6 spots
September 15 – 22: 6 spots
September 22 – 29: 2 spots
