Rapids Camp Lodge: Highlights & Updates 2025

Flexible New Pricing Structure 

Starting in 2025, Rapids Camp Lodge will offer all fly-out days as optional add-ons, paid for on-site. With the new Air Taxi certificate, Rapids Camp Lodge can now separate the cost of fly-outs from the base lodge pricing. This ensures that guests only pay for the fly-out excursions they use, creating a more customizable and budget-friendly experience. This flexibility empowers each guest to design their perfect trip, tailored to their interests and needs. 

Expanded Packages for June and July 

In response to guest feedback, Rapids Camp Lodge is introducing new package options ranging from 3 to 7 nights during the months of June and July. These packages cater to a variety of interests, including fishing, bear viewing, and flightseeing tours. For those traveling with family or seeking non-fishing activities, we now offer excursions to iconic destinations like Brooks Falls for unforgettable bear viewing, as well as hiking, flying and boating adventures.

Nushagak Tent Camp: A New Fishing Experience 

One of the most exciting additions for 2025 is the Nushagak Tent Camp, a 4-person camp set on the shores of the renowned Nushagak River, home to one of the largest king salmon runs in the world. Operating during late June and early July, this camp offers: 

• Weeklong packages for budget-conscious anglers. 
• A prime opportunity for Spey anglers chasing the thrill of a king salmon grab. 
• Included transfers between King Salmon and the camp. 
• Meals, bedding, and a dedicated camp host to handle cooking and boat operations. 

The Nushagak Tent Camp is a simple yet rewarding setup, perfect for those seeking an immersive and intimate fishing experience.

Fall Fishing Adventures on the Naknek River 

For the first time, Rapids Camp Lodge will remain open in late September and all of October to offer boat-based fishing packages on the Naknek River. This season is prime for targeting the Naknek’s legendary migratory rainbow trout, which enter the river in large numbers during the fall. Using steelhead-like tactics, anglers will fish four to a boat with one guide serving primarily as a boat driver and location advisor. This setup is ideal for self-reliant anglers looking for a unique challenge. 

Guests on fall packages will enjoy: 

• Single-room accommodation at the lodge. 
• Buffet-style meals.
