Overview
Covering water with long casts is the name of the game when it comes to fishing big indicators on lakes. The added power and reach of switch rods allow anglers to fish further out. With its rear loaded body, the Lake Chucker is the perfect line for this technique, producing deep loading D-loops, long roll-casts, and easier mending at distance. Coming in 6wt, 7wt, and 8wt configurations, the Lake Chucker’s fully integrated design removes any confusion about rigging with a two-handed rod and generates smooth, uninterrupted retrieves while bringing fish to the net.
Pyramid Fly Co. has been a RIO partner since our inception. We deal with heavy winds, strong currents, and big indicator rigs, so a line that can defeat these roadblocks, while still being user friendly, is of utmost importance. We put over 20,000 client hours in every season with RIO lines, resulting in the ultimate collaboration to bring you a line that will undoubtedly be the finest switch indicator line you have ever fished.

son with this outfit a few days before they left to fish Pyramid Lake. They were able to work with the line and roll cast it and by using a Perry Poke shoot some line adequately. I just got off the phone with them and, while they did use Pyramid Fly Co. as their guides, they did not use this line. They used Switch Chuckers instead: 7 wt. , 25' and 465 grains on Echo two-handed 7 wt. rods which they balanced nicely. They were pleased at how much easier these lines cast, shoot and present than the Lake Chucker line advertised by Rio and Pyramid Fly Co. I get it, you add almost 10 feet to an existing line and the grain weight will go up. But calling it a 6 wt. when it is way out of AFFTA standards is silly. Either Pyramid Fly Co. does not have enough Lake Chuckers to go around for their clients, or they have discovered that Switch Chuckers that actually balance a rod they choose to use is the better way to go.
