The Indicator line is designed for long casts and big dead drifts with indicator nymph rigs. Wading anglers and anglers fishing from an anchored boat can maximize their drift with this line by casting far upstream, mending as their rig drifts even with their position, then stack mending with ease as it travels far downstream. The long head allows for more efficient mending at distance while also helping stack mending techniques downstream, creating a seamless and longer natural drift. 30ft weights are roughly two AFFTA sizes heavy to make carrying and turnover of big indicators and heavy nymph rigs a breeze. A nymphing line like no other

"This line provided me with the biggest casting surprise in the entire line Rio line up. The triangle taper line with a long head is ideal for indicator nymphing applications allowing perfect control over your drift with numerous mends. Unlike its competitors such as the SA Anadro or the Airflo nymph it allows roll casts in addition to overhead casting making it more versatile. Pair it with a longer (9. 6 or 10 ft) fast action rod and you‘ll be casting 50 ft roll cast and 60 ft overhead casts with a little practise. A line I don’t want to miss in my line wallett and the best line I know for the purpose provided on the carton - indicator nymphing"

"I have this line in both a 5 & 6 wt. The way the head is designed not only helps cast a heavy nymph and indicator rig a country mile with one back cast, or a water anchor with just a single forwart stroke, but allows you to mend your line at those incredible distances. Without the aliblity to mend at those distances the long cast are useless. I am a full-time guide and many of my clients are first time fly fishers or very limited experience. With this line it allows me to having them making nice casts and presentations in just a short time. The line is made for the wading angler or an anchored boat. If drifting they have a specific model for that too!Thank you Rio!"
