Designed To Cast Large, And Heavy Flies With Low-Stretch, Ultra-Slick Performance
Whether fishing for trout, bass, pike, or musky there are times when a large fly is the best option, and RIO's Predator line series is designed specifically to cast them easily. Featuring a short, powerful front taper and plenty of weight at the front, the lines have no problem casting the biggest of flies with ease. Whether floating or sink tip, each line is built on RIO's low stretch ConnectCore Plus for maximum performance, and features SlickCast—the slickest, most durable coating on the market
There are 4 different density lines to cover every fishing situation:
- A Full Floating line (F), for top water action
- A Floating Line with 10ft of Hover Sinking line, then 10ft of Intermediate Sinking line at the front (F/H/I), for fishing in the top 2-3 ft
- A Floating Line with 10ft of Intermediate Sinking line, then 10ft of Medium-Sinking line at the front (F/I/S3), for fishing mid-water
- A Floating Line with 10ft of Fast-Sinking line, then 10ft of Extra-Fast Sinking line at the front (F/S5/S7), for getting down deep and fast

"I use the Rio Predator series in several different versions and weights. This is my absolute go to streamer line. From small streamers, to large Pike and Musky flies, in lakes and in small to large rivers. Because it’s a heavier line it does load up streamer rods fantastically. Roll casts great, and also picks up well, even in the heaviest sink versions."

"Decent, a few twists in the line even when spooling correctly."

"I bought two predator lines ( float and sink ) for 7 weight. Special end September fishing remote in Alaska. Needed streamer delivery with one back cast to go further than today’s top float lines needing another extra back cast and also roll cast precision and distance. I am competent caster so it’s not to compensate. Worked so well I stopped using other lines even with larger fly situation I came across . This was for large rainbows in deeper and larger rivers and also large Arctic char ( not Dollie’s ) landlocked minute lakes in particular remote Alaska area I will not divulge. Needed to get to drop off where streams and small rivers enter lakes. Superb. One backcast. Very easy to pick up life line also to cast."

"I first started throwing heavy weight forward floating lines 20 years ago (Wulff Triangle taper) and fell in love with them. If your fly fishing for bass and not using these style lines your missing out big time!!!!!!"
