Overview

DESIGNED TO CAST LARGE, HEAVY, WIND RESISTANT FLIES IN WARMWATER AND JUNGLE APPLICATIONS

Whether fishing for Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass in warmwater or Golden Dorado and Peacock Bass in the jungle, there are times when a large fly is the best or only option. Modeled after our popular Elite Predator line, RIO's Elite Warmwater Predator line series is designed specifically to cast those big flies easily with precision and accuracy in warmer conditions.

Featuring a short, powerful front taper and plenty of weight at the front, these lines have no problem casting the biggest and meatiest of flies with ease. Running lines are all floating, making them easier to mend and pick up than typical intermediate equipped running lines. Whether floating or sink tip, each line is built on RIO's low stretch DirectCore for maximum performance, and features SlickCast—the slickest, most durable coating on the market.

There are 4 different density lines to cover every fishing situation:

  • (F) A Full Floating line, for top water action
  • (F/H/I) A Floating Line with 10ft of Hover Sinking line, then 10ft of Intermediate Sinking line at the front, for fishing in the top 2-3 ft
  • (F/I/S3) A Floating line with 10ft of Intermediate Sinking line, then 10t of Medium Sinking Line, for dropping down beneath the top 3ft
  • (F/S5/S7) A Floating Line with 10ft of Fast- Sinking line, then 10ft of Extra-Fast Sinking line at the front, for getting down deep and fast

Really good line and survived

"Really good line and survived a busy week of peacock bass fishign."

Predator line = good stuff.

"Fantastic for throwing bass flies. I’m pretty old fashioned on all these lines for different applications. Being more of a “learn to cast” school kind of guide but no doubt this line makes bigger fly delivery much easier."

Get in the zone

"I fished this line on a recent peacock bass trip. The line helped to send the large flies used during the trip. The sink tip helped to keep the fly in the zone longer which we all know leads to more success. The water was high on my trip so I used this fast sink version 90% of the trip. Great fly line to shoot big flies."

Great Fly Line for Casting Large Topwater Flies in the Tropics.

"There is nothing like a surface strike from a large Barramundi! casting large surface flies at them is about as exciting as it gets. The Elite Warmwater Predator Full Floating Lines have been exactly designed to do this. . . The short front taper makes it easy casting big top-water flies around and over the weed beds where they live. The high floating running line also helps floating on top of the weed for an easy re-cast. A very slick casting line for throwing large top-water flies."

Second peacock trip, Awesome

"I’ve take all these lines to Colombia the last couple of years in 8 and 9 wts. Honestly I wouldn’t go without them now. A warm water line is absolutely essential to fish effectively. Standard lines wilt and stick in your guides. You will add 10-20’ of distance by using this line over standard lines and being able to shoot a tight loop up under trees will be the difference between 10 fish days and 30 fish days."

Dave C. (5/5)

Rio warm water predator

"The Predator is my favourite line taper, powerful turnover and easy to cast, yet still stable in the air with a good amount of line out. The warm water version is more slick and shoots better in warmer environments. Fantastic line."
