Overview
The RIO Perception is the best all-around fly line on smaller rivers and lakes.
The RIO PERCEPTION is an easy casting, general purpose fly line that casts nymphs, dry flies, streamers and soft hackles with ease. The short head makes this a particularly good line on smaller rivers and lakes when long distance line control is not necessary.
This line is built with SlickCast, RIO's proprietary coating technology, which creates the slickest, most durable fly lines on the market. Lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line. In addition, the line features MaxFloat Tip Technology, RIO's proprietary tip coating formula that floats more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter.

tion on wider rivers and on smaller ones I'll use Creek.) 3) The 4wt Perception is only OK on the Lamson Purist 904-2. On the Hardy 864 Ultralight, it's all but useless and won't fish it. I find this hard to grasp as both 4wt rods are a bit softer than the Douglas. My hunch is that if the head length were a couple of feet shorter it would match the 4wt rods better. I most fish small wooly buggers or drift nymphs. I'm not a dry fly fan. The bottom line is if you have a SKY G and fish wider rivers (> 50') Perception will fish well.
