RIO's Krysciak Jigged Death

"One of the most successful flies of all time on the Great Lakes for steelhead is the white death, a small white zonker pattern which people usually dead drift under indicators. When we started seriously euro nymphing for our steelhead, we wanted to create flies that we fished for years but tuned to how we were now fishing them. This fly riffs off of the original with the same white color and red hot spot, but with a heavy silver bead and a pearl body as opposed to the original silver, which I've always felt was more natural and fishy. We initially fished these in the smaller, more traditional sizes dead drifted but soon moved to also tying them large like our size 4 version which can be dead drifted or jigged for aggressive fish. These work great in any and all trout rivers as a wounded minnow or flesh fly type pattern; they're deadly on smallmouth too!" - Chris Krysciak
