Bonefish School: First Cast to Advanced Tactics with Simon Gawesworth
Whether you're stepping onto a flats skiff for the first time or looking to refine your existing skills, our Bonefish School offers the perfect opportunity to elevate your game. If you're looking to improve your casting in the wind, target challenging and selective species, or sharpen your overall saltwater fishing skills, this course is designed for you.
This school is set during a prime week at Andros South Lodge, packing 2 days of professional instruction and 4 days of guided fishing into one week. Anglers will be immersed into the exciting world of Bonefish fly fishing while also being taught advanced casting techniques, fishing strategies, and skills essential to becoming a confident, successful, safe angler. Throughout the course, your main focus will be Bonefish with chances for Barracuda as well.
As part of Sage Experiences, you'll use the latest Sage fly rods and RIO fly lines, specifically chosen for the unique conditions on the flats of South Andros. Students will begin with classroom instruction on select mornings and evenings, followed by a full day dedicated to refining casting techniques and Bonefish fishing tactics. On the second day, you'll focus on mastering the art of casting from a skiff in the wind. The final four days are centered around applying your newfound or improved skills on the flats, with four full days of guided fishing with professional Bahamian guides.
Our course is designed to ensure every student leaves with the knowledge and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of fly fishing. To provide personalized attention, we maintain a low instructor-to-student ratio: no more than four students per instructor during lessons and just two guests per guide during your four fishing days.

March 7: Arrive Andros South Lodge
March 8: Classroom and casting sessions
March 9: Morning classroom session, full day of casting lessons
March 10: Full day of guided fishing with the expert Andros South Guides
March 11: Full day of guided fishing with the expert Andros South Guides
March 12: Full day of guided fishing with the expert Andros South Guides
March 13: Full day of guided fishing with the expert Andros South Guides
March 14: Depart lodge for home
Rate: Package Rate per person based on single occupancy and shared guiding
School Rate: $7,965
Included: Accommodations, meals and beverages including beer, wine and hard alcohol at the lodge, transfers between Congo Town airport and the lodge, all ground transportation on South Andros, Sage Perfect Setups, fishing license, 2 days of instruction, 4 days of guided fishing, Bahamas VAT tax.
Not Included: All airfare, clothing, gratuities for staff, guides, and instructors.
