Tongariro Lodge's 40th Anniversary

Founded in 1982 by legendary New Zealand angler and guide, Tony Hayes, Tongariro Lodge is celebrating their 40th Anniversary this season. Over the past four decades Tongariro has hosted some of the world's best known anglers and shown them some of the best sight fishing for large wild rainbows imaginable.

In a addition to a diverse fishing program featuring over 30 rivers and superb home water on the mighty Tongariro River, the lodge is also one of New Zealand's most flexible operations, offering guests the ability to stay for whatever length of time they like and choose between fly-out and drive-to options as they see fit. With horseback riding, hiking, rafting, golf, and natural hot pools also available to guests, it is easy to see why we consider this lodge a must for anglers and adventures alike.
