RIO Signature Tyer
Chris Krysciak
Chris Krysciak is a competitive fly angler and accomplished fly tyer who has represented Canada on the world stage, including two appearances at the Fly Fishing World Championships and a top team finish at the 2024 Championships. At the national level, he is a two-time team gold medalist whose competitive background continues to shape his approach to both fishing and fly design.
With nearly two decades of fly-tying experience, Chris has been featured in multiple publications and recognized with several tying awards. He currently manages Drift Outfitters & Fly Shop in Toronto, where he leads fly-fishing instruction and works closely with anglers ranging from beginners to seasoned competitors.
Fishing across Canada has required a versatile approach, targeting everything from technical trout to aggressive warmwater species. That versatility is reflected in his fly tying, where patterns often draw inspiration from multiple disciplines and are developed with a clear purpose in mind. His flies are designed to solve problems on the water — not just look good in a fly bin.
