Overview
Eleven Experience's 61’ Hatteras Mothership called the Outpost is a beautifully restored vessel that places fly anglers squarely on some of the most productive flats in the world for large bull redfish. The yacht hosts groups of four anglers (two per skiff) and features four comfortable and well-appointed private staterooms and bathrooms. Anchored in the heart of the Louisiana marsh, guests on the Outpost have immediate access to fantastic opportunities for large bull redfish, black drum and sheepshead.
The southern Louisiana swamp is a beautiful and simple landscape of grassy marshlands, interspersed with a maze of channels, flats and islands. Its prized inhabitants are bull redfish that show up in the winter months and have the potential for some fish to push 40lbs. These fish are highly aggressive and most shots at fish occur quite close to the boat which can provide for a real thrill.
This is a fantastic trip for those looking for an effective winter escape that is still close to home. While the sometimes cold temperatures can make angling a challenge, redfish are a cold water species and as long as they see your fly, they will eat it. There may not be a better close-to-home option for winter flats fishing than chasing these big bull reds. Additionally, guests arrive and depart through New Orleans which can make for a fun addition to your trip.
Fishing Program
Eleven Experience's Outpost Mothership allows for maximum flexibility for each day’s fishing schedule. Anglers fish two per skiff with seasoned and highly experienced American guide. Guests can decide to customize their fishing schedule for each day with the ship’s crew and guides. In the morning you can grab a quick continental breakfast and head straight out fishing or choose a more relaxed pace with a full made-to-order breakfast. Full days on the water can be arranged with lunch on the boat or instead choose to return in the afternoon with a sit down lunch on the boat. Après fishing snacks and appetizers are served at the end of the day along with your favorite beverages, cocktails, wine or beer. Each evening fine cuisine is served with a blend of Bahamian and American flair.
