Overview

Wild steelhead are shaped by unforgiving expanses. Case in point: The rugged peaks of Washington’s Mt. Olympus and the rain-drenched rivers it feeds. Redington’s backyard proving grounds give us ample room to explore our place in it all. Especially when it comes to developing two-handed rods that push the possibilities in punishing conditions. The new Olympus Spey knows the program – designed to bring instinctual familiarity to the fish we cherish and fisheries we frequent. Take your two hands and double down on the type of fast-action, quick-recovering performance that opens the aperture to precision cast-work and controlling large, angsty anadromous fish.

KNOW YOUR NANO

Say hello to Nano Resin Technology, our most advanced graphite and resin matrix — lighter, stronger, more responsive. But don’t let the technospeak lull you to sleep: Better ingredients only matter if you know what to do with them. That's where in-house rod designs rise to the top. In our Bainbridge Island engineering room, rod developer Brandon Morton uses Nano Resin to dial in flagship actions that ooze utility for how you actually fish. Light enough to feel every subtle take. Lively enough to load with precision. Responsive enough to control fish through the fight. The materials are next-level, but the secret sauce is the obsessive attention to actions that turn function into fun.

IN FULL SWING

From greased line singles and snakes to your full assortment of anchor-centric snaps, pokes and doubles, there's a right rod in this lineup for everything from trout spey streams to realizing your Atlantic salmon dreams — spanning a 3-weight trout spey rod up to the 9140-6, our longest, most powerful spey rod, offered in a 6-piece configuration for easy travel. Redington's premium cork handle features cork ring accents top and bottom, providing a visual cue for consistent hand placement, while the chrome-plated stainless steel guideset delivers maximum shootability when push comes to shove.

SPEY ATTENTION

Designed for the punishing conditions of Redington's backyard proving grounds — the rugged peaks of Washington's Mt. Olympus and the rivers it feeds — OLYMPUS Spey rods deliver the fast-action, quick-recovering performance built from Nano Resin Technology needed to control large, angsty anadromous fish.
