Experience British Columbia Steelhead

Ken Morrish December 19, 2023

On a clear day in the fall, when the blue back-lit peaks of the Skeena are dusted in fresh snow, and the valleys are yellow with fall foliage, it is hard not to be overwhelmed by the beauty and promise of this place.

At any given moment, a steelhead of 20 or even 30 pounds could be working its way upriver, making each moment spent without a fly in the water feel like a missed opportunity. Rivers like the Kispiox, Babine, Sustut, and Bulkley are all legendary, and for good reason, as these and the other arteries of the Skeena are the heart, soul, and undisputed epicenter of the steelhead fly fishing world.
