MADE IN USA

At Sage, craftsmanship is our people. We’re not a big faceless factory, but rather a workplace of craftspeople who design and build the world’s best fly rods and reels using our hands and hearts. We do it by sharing ideas and always asking the next question to find what can be done to make this better. Our rods are built one at time right here on Bainbridge Island, WA, following hundreds of meticulous steps and passing through 23 sets of hands. Our reels are also designed right here, and then precision-crafted with exclusive USA carbon to tolerance only Sage can deliver. We’re out there fishing the same places in the same unforgiving conditions that you are. Craftsmanship is applied experience. Lifetimes of it.

G5 4113-4 aka Phoebe

"Boy, I wasn’t sure when I bought this rod that it was the one for me but I went with my gut and pulled the trigger. I’ve had it lined up in a corner of my living room for a few months now and decided that it was time to take the girls out to dance for a while. I was very pleased at how this rod handled and preformed. It was way better than I could have ever imagined and at a price that I was comfortable with. I’ve had a few rods in my hands and won’t bash anyone’s rods because their all nice these days but this one to me has that one thing that seems to be missing from most modern ultra fast action rods and that is sole. This G5 has it, sole, class, fun to use, keeps things light and fun and paired with the Sage Trout Spey reel and Rio lines this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. If you’re on the fence trust me, you won’t be disappointed in this one."

Spey Days winner

"Kurt Kruger introduced me to the G5 4113 at "Spey Days" in West Yellowstone two years ago when I told him I was looking for a rod that could manage heavier tips and bigger junk than my One 3110. We worked with several rods and over the day dialed in the G5. I bought it paired with a Skagit Power 325g on the spot from BSA. After 2 years, it has turned me into a streamer addict hunting for his next tug. Kudos to Kurt and Sage."

Hard to Beat Sage Quality

"I've been fishing the 4113-4 HARD for about 9 months now. I've fished it in multiple states, thrown everything from size 18 soft hackles to medium-sized streamers and it's just been so reliable and versatile. I've even caught a handful of 25"-30" hatchery steelhead on this 4wt. Has the power to throw the big stuff and the finesse for the small stuff."

Bull Trout Hunter

"Exactly what I needed to hunt adfluvial Bull trout! Flexes deep and does an exceptional job moving mini dungeons and similar weighted flies with a 375 skagit head."

"Upgraded to G5 from Redington hydrogen. Caught Uncountable fish on the hydrogen. The G5 is a super Light weight . Casts my custom trout Spey flies perfectly."

Take it slow

"There is something I've learned over the years and it's the value of slowing down just a bit and enjoy the moment, whatever that moment may be. That's exactly the rhythm that I felt casting this rod. Its not that kind of rod that demands your every ounce of intent to perform at its peak level, but a rod that will do the work for you if you just slow it down a bit and let the good vibes flow! This rod is a pleasure to cast and a great choice for someone new to the world of two hand casting or a seasoned spey caster looking for a easy going Sunday cruiser. The First line I put on it was Rio's Integrated trout spey line in a 305 grain head along with a 10ft slow sink versileader. It paired well but I'm sure you could put a 350 grain head on if you like your line a bit on heavier side of the grain window."
